The Main Lodge Building
serves as the central gathering place of the property, where guests dine, relax, and reflect on each day’s adventures in the Kodiak Island Archipelago.
The lodge was built from the ground up as Birch grew up here on Raspberry Island, using local Sitka spruce that Birch’s father cut and milled with his portable chainsaw mill. It has served as a gathering place for generations of anglers, explorers, and hunters from around the world who visit Kodiak Raspberry Island Remote Lodge to experience our remote stretch of coastal Alaska.
As the hub of the property, guests can observe meals being prepared in the open kitchen, settle into the living room after a full day outdoors, and gather at the dining tables for breakfast and dinner. From the lodge windows, guests look out across Raspberry Strait toward Afognak Island and the surrounding mountains of the Kodiak Archipelago.
This building is a meaningful part of our story here. The beams overhead still carry the marks of the mill, and the spruce has deepened in tone with decades of coastal weather and steady use. Built deliberately to endure in this environment, the lodge has matured gracefully alongside our family and the returning guests who visit year after year.
Mornings begin here with hot coffee and quiet anticipation. Evenings conclude with a hearty meal, shared stories, and the satisfaction that comes from a day well spent. The lodge is more than a structure — it is where people connect, relationships deepen, and the experience of Raspberry Island is shared.

THE LODGE
Kodiak Raspberry Island Remote Lodge is an off-grid wilderness property within the Kodiak Archipelago, built around access to fishing, wildlife, and coastal Alaska while maintaining comfort, privacy, and simplicity in a remote setting.
Private Cabins
Eight private, fully appointed guest cabins offer quiet separation from the main lodge while remaining only a short walk away. Each cabin has its own view of the surrounding property and wilderness beyond.
Food and Drink
Meals are prepared from scratch each day, often centered around locally harvested seafood, with fresh breads, plated dinners, and complimentary beer and wine served in a relaxed communal atmosphere.
Pause
The pace naturally slows between activities—whether in the wood-fired sauna, hot tub, cold plunge, or simply watching weather and wildlife move through the strait from the deck.
