Raspberry Island in the Kodiak Island Archipelago

sits approximately 35 miles from Kodiak City, nestled between Kodiak and Afognak Islands. There are no roads or bridges connecting us to a population center. Access is by boat or floatplane, and even before arrival, guests notice that the separation from the outside world is immediate and unmistakable.
 
Visitors fly commercially into Kodiak Airport, and transportation to the lodge from Kodiak is included in each of our packages. The journey is part of the experience: approximately 90 minutes by boat as we travel between Kodiak, Spruce, Whale, Afognak, and Raspberry Islands—or about 25 minutes by floatplane, crossing the same island chain from above. Either way, the approach reveals the scale of the archipelago long before you step from the boat or plane onto our beach.

From our windows, we look across the strait to Afognak Island, while behind the lodge “Granny” Mountain rises to nearly 1,800 feet. Our location is deliberate—set within vast, intact coastal wilderness.

THE LODGE

Kodiak Raspberry Island Remote Lodge is an off-grid wilderness property within the Kodiak Archipelago, built around access to fishing, wildlife, and coastal Alaska while maintaining comfort, privacy, and simplicity in a remote setting.

The Main Lodge

Built from locally milled Sitka spruce, the main lodge is the center of daily life at the property—warm, open, and positioned to look directly across Raspberry Strait toward the surrounding mountains and ocean.

Private Cabins

Eight private, fully appointed guest cabins offer quiet separation from the main lodge while remaining only a short walk away. Each cabin has its own view of the surrounding property and wilderness beyond.

Food and Drink

Meals are prepared from scratch each day, often centered around locally harvested seafood, with fresh breads, plated dinners, and complimentary beer and wine served in a relaxed communal atmosphere.

Pause

The pace naturally slows between activities—whether in the wood-fired sauna, hot tub, cold plunge, or simply watching weather and wildlife move through the strait from the deck.

Off Grid

The lodge operates independently through a hybrid hydro and solar power system designed specifically for the demands of remote coastal Alaska, where reliability matters as much as sustainability.
