Fishing in the Kodiak Island Archipelago

is shaped by seasons, conditions, and our guests’ interests. There is no fixed script—our approach is simple: put you where the opportunity is and give you the time, tools, and guidance to fish it well.
Mornings begin in the main lodge with a hot breakfast and coffee. Rain gear, rubber boots, and chest waders are provided, lunches are packed, and within a short walk you are stepping aboard directly from the beach.
On the water, we move with purpose. Ocean fishing days may begin working structure for halibut, rockfish, or lingcod, while others may start under birds trolling or mooching for silver salmon. River days begin in chest waders with a run to the river, followed by a guided walk upstream after stepping off the catamaran. We adjust throughout the day based on conditions and your interests, and catching multiple species in a single day is common.
Each boat carries no more than six guests, allowing room to fish comfortably. Your captain adapts to your experience level—offering as much guidance as you want, or simply putting you in position and letting you fish.
Between stops, there is time to take in where you are—the remote Alaskan coastline, wildlife, and the movement of the water. These moments are part of the day, not separate from it.
By late afternoon, we may pull a crab pot before returning to the lodge. Your catch is handed off to be processed, and the day transitions naturally back to shore. The crab is boiled, a cold beer is enjoyed, and we take in the fact that we get to do it again tomorrow.
Fishing at Kodiak Raspberry Island Remote Lodge is not rushed or scripted. It is simply a well-run day on the water in a place where there is always something worth pursuing.
