Kodiak Alaska Lodge • Kodiak Fishing Lodge • Kodiak Island Lodge
It is a pleasure acting as base camp for the team with http://o2x.com this week! Run by Navy SEALs, they have 'inserted' into a remote valley on Raspberry Island and will work their way back to the lodge, spending two nights in the field. For those of you familiar with the area, I dropped them off in Last Chance, where they will run the ridges back to Zipper Valley and likely spend the night in the spruce back in there by the beaver dams. Then climb up through the Hidden Bowl, and down into Bear Valley, where they will all shimmy across the gorge above the creek via Tyrollean Traverse (on a rope). Probably spend the night in the spruce overlooking the valley in there, then climb up the ridge between Bear Valley and Easter Egg Beach, and catch the Granny Loop down the far size of Iron Creek to home. Should be a great trip and expect the kegerator and hot tub will be in high demand when they get back! O2x is a program designed to immerse groups into the wilds, generating new experiences, comradarie, and team building. These guys are doing it right! The pic below is of some of the participants arriving by plane, while the guides and I hauled gear and luggage home in the Gemini.
The O2X Human Performance programs take a complete approach to wellness integrating physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. O2X designs training and continuing education plans for corporate, athletic, municipal groups and individuals.
Five Sitka Black-Tailed Deer walking along our beach this morning, caught on our web cam! Thanks Mike for capturing the pic and forwarding. Our webcam uploads every 5 minutes so have a look on our website www.RaspberryIsland.com to see what's happening on Raspberry Island! In a few weeks our season will start and the webcam will feature the days catch every evening around 5:30pm Alaska time. Stay tuned!
