Kodiak Alaska Lodge • Kodiak Fishing Lodge • Kodiak Island Lodge
Many of our guests visit other parts of Alaska before coming to Raspberry Island. Alaska is a huge state and offers so much; Denali and the Kenai Penn. being very popular, with our portion of the stay tied in as the 'grand finale.' It's also nice coming here last because of our laundry service, and the fact that many guests like to bring fish they catch here home directly. We are asked by a number of our new guests where else would we recommend visiting in Alaska, and I thought I'd present that question to you. What are some of your favorite places in this state you'd recommend to others, especially tying in those destinations with Raspberry as part of the trip? Please feel free to mention lodge and/or specific destination names so I can pass these ideas along. Destinations like Barrow, Nome, Bristol Bay, the Alaska Penn, Fairbanks, Denali, Yakutat, Cordova, SE? What would be an essential blend of Alaska, tying in our experience here on Raspberry Island. I'm familiar with the other lodges around Kodiak already, so you don't have to mention these...ha ha ;)
Scary Stuff! Big Money Pollack Fishermen vs lots and lots of small business owners. Thank goodness we had a good fishery last year; this article, while I believe could be applied to all of Alaska, is specifically in the Bering Sea.
OPINION: Alaska Halibut war isn't about allocation; it's about sustaining the resource.
