Some of our Alaskan Cuisine starts right here, from the earth and the soil on our property. Our small garden and two green houses, along with a couple of strategically located herb gardens, supplement your meals throughout the day. Fresh Dill in breads or accenting salmon fillets, parsley, chives, basil and oregano all help contribute to the meal’s freshness. A variety of lettuce, kale, swiss chard and bok choy combine in crisp salads. Later in the year, fresh cherry tomatoes can be picked and potatoes beds are tilled and harvested. More obvious is the variety of flowers growing here and there, some planted and tended with love, others are growing naturally and wild; all brimming with color as they enjoy Alaska’s short but radiant growing season.
Our stay here on Raspberry Island has been amazing! It was everything we thought it would be an much much more! I think we saw every animal you could possibly see! We came within 30 ft of a huge Finback Whale in our kayaks, and even closer to the Alaskan Brown Bear! Fishing was a Blast! We loved watching the Eagles feast after Birch cleaned our Fish! The food was out of this world! You will definitely not go hungry!
