Kodiak Island Fishing represents some of the best halibut fishing and salmon fishing in the world. Raspberry Island Remote Camps is visited every year by serious fishermen from around the globe.  They come for the fun, the pursuit, and the table fare of this wild Alaskan query.  We target King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Pink Salmon, Chum Salmon, Silver Salmon, Pacific Halibut, over five species of Rockfish, Ling Cod, Grey Cod, Dolly Varden, and Salmon Shark.  Many days result in mixed bags with several species caught, yet we are happy to specifically target what you are looking for. We provide top of the line equipment, tackle, and bait matched to the species we are targeting.  Your fish will be Filleted, Vacuum Sealed, and Frozen for you at the end of each day.

Salt Water Fishing is primarily done from our 37 foot custom built catamaran, the Gemini.  Though we enjoy the benefits of her size, we do not fish more than eight guests on the Gemini, only if you are in one group.  Otherwise, we allow only six guests or fewer to enjoy her large decks. Compared to other boats, her catamaran style hull significantly improves stability and her twelve foot beam gives us a lot of room to fish and work fish.  With over six hundred horsepower from her twin engines and a complete compliment of quality fishing gear, like Cannon, G. Loomis, Lamiglas, Newell, Shimano, and Penn, we are prepared to utilize every opportunity as it develops.  A fully enclosed heated cabin with stand up bathroom makes any travel comfortable. She is Coast Guard safety inspected, is complete with life raft and all safety equipment, and has a full array of navigational and fish finding electronics.

We primarily target Halibut, all five species of Salmon, Ling Cod, Yelloweye, and other Rockfish in the ocean. Halibut can be huge; catching fish weighing twenty pounds is common with these fish growing to over four hundred pounds.  At Raspberry Island Remote Camps, every moment your line is in the water is an opportunity to catch one of these huge fish.  We use stand up tackle and big circle hooks with bait or 12-16 oz jigs, fishing depths from forty five to over three hundred feet.

Salmon are fished with trolling gear or by mooching.  Kings in our area can reach eighty or more pounds, and Silver or Coho salmon range from eight to twenty pounds and action can be intense.  We focus on bait balls and their migration routes as they return to the same rivers they were born in.  With a lifetime of experience targeting these fish, both commercially and as a sport fishing guide, I am able to pass that experience on to you.

Shore fishing is why our serious Fly Fishers and Spin Fishers visit Raspberry Island Remote Camps every year.  We target all five species of Salmon as they return to their home rivers to spawn.  These fish are often dime bright and full of vigor.  We know where they are going, when they will be there, and some of the best ways to catch them.  We also can target Dolly Varden, a fun fish on light tackle and very beautiful.

“I have fished all over the world and have never seen or been so close to this many fish!”
